Was in Calais last night waiting for our shuttle after two wonderful months away in our little VW campervan exploring Spain and France, it was blowing a gale! Back in Felixstowe at midday, dropped Mag at the local hospital as her insect bite on her face is still bad and went to check the conditions at The Dip - hoping it was offshore so I could go home, unload the van and relax but sadly it was near perfect with several out in 5/6m weather with the wind NE the best direction at Felixstowe. So, I didn't have any choice after picking Mag up and going home to say hello to Dan and Jay, meeting the new arrivals two wonderful rescue cats from Greece:) Then it was down to the seafront with the gear still on the van, the car park was full but managed to squeeze in.

I was soon out on the water with 6m on the 282 and although the water looked fairly flat from the shore it seemed to lump up as the tide turned. I beat to the River Deben in search of flat water but a combination of strong tide and light wind made it a waste of time so returned to the open sea. Although a lovely sunny day it was a tad on the chilly side, when a hat and gloves were required I called it a day.

Great to be out on my home water and to catch up with my mates. Could be more of the same tomorrow:)
