First session on my new home made XL slalom board. Forecast was for 10-15 picking up to 15-20 but when I arrived it had already filled in. So took the HD 83 (150L!!!) with the 6.9 and 38 SL@ as my mast for the 7.7 is out of action.
I was a little nervous as I am trying a few new things on this board for the tail and bottom shape. First run out and I breathed a sigh of relief, she was nice and slippery, the non adjustable twin screw straps were perfect and the rails were comfy. I motored upwind and settled in for a few hours. This was to be a real world board that planed early, allowed bigger guys to plane out of all their gybes but still hang in there when it picks up and gets rough - all boxes ticked. I was having too much fun to plug the 112 in and the arms were blowing out so I called it a day. NM had a gybe and there werent any hours with all the footstrap and mast base adjustments. Looking forward to trying the board closer to the middle of its sail range.
