gps-speedsurfing

Hi,

Both of my GT31's are at the ends of their lives, one has a broken screen and does not save the track to card, the other is currently working after a few months intermittent (part tracks saved, sometimes nothing). I left it in rice for about 4 weeks with the case open and it now seems to work.

I have no ambitions to do any records and have been looking at the Garmin Vivoactive to track my other passtimes too. It seems a good deal, is a watch, has good battery, is waterproof, works as a smartwatch as well as having GPS built in unlike many other smartwatches that rely on the phone GPS.

Does anyone have any experience using on for windsurfing?

Thanks

Hello Lea,

The Vivoactive is not really good for GPS-Speedsurfing, it's logging at variable speeds (2 - 6 per second) , check out this discussion at Seabreeze

Currently just the vivoactive (another Garmin watch) has a problem. It updates GPS every second and displays numbers correctly every second, but the .FIT files contain information every 2-6 seconds. This is because it is using smart recording.

The Fenix series will give you better results.
