Arrived very late after partying till late last night and feeling a little fragile - this usually guarantees wind, and when I got out of bed and looked on the net, hilbre was showing gusts of 50knots.

Arrived around 2:00 as the wind seemed to be dropping off so rigged a 5.8 and sailed till dark at 4:00

The wind had its ups and down but when it was up it felt like 30 odd knots.

As people drifted away the water got flatter and flatter and during a slightly broader squall I looked down to see that I had smashed my personal bests which have stood like a brick wall since last January - At last!

At the same time it Graham Clegg also beat his personal bests.

For half an hour we had that rare commodity - super flat water and bags of wind.

The direction was a bit too square for realy fast speed, but as a result even on my fastest runs everything felt very stable and controlled.

Fantastic day - now even I begin to wonder if it might be possible..............
